Congratulations to Ravenclaw and especially Noah for doing such a brilliant job as Captain!

My parents are talking of court action against their accusers. Of course, it's ridiculous to point fingers at them, my grandfather Robards was killed in the war, Daddy would never throw his lot in with neo-purists, and nor would I! In fact, during the services today, I kept thinking about how sad it was that I never knew my grandfather, and I know there are a lot of other people who never got to know grandparents, and even parents, because of that war.

Kudos to Mr Shacklebolt for showing up, it can't have been easy. It's a pity he's not well enough to stand as Minister again.

I am pleased with my audition, I know I hit all the notes perfectly and wasn't out of time. This musical should be a lot of fun, I quite enjoy the playing around with traditional fairytales and the music is good too! That on top of NOT splinching myself during the first Apparation lesson makes for a very good weekend! Plus I was told I had a natural aptitude for apparating - I wonder if they'll let me take the test earlier?

I was only half listening to the Quidditch match today, but how strange that those players vanished! At least they returned, but I wonder what happened!

The Minister's apology wasn't worth the breath it took for him to say it. Raiding Ms Goshawk's New Year's Eve party was completely unacceptable and raises even more concerns about the rights of all wizards and witches. Just because a person does not agree with the policies of the current government does not make them a criminal nor does a gathering of conservative minded people mean they are trading in dark artefacts! This was not a good start to the New Year.

Already this Christmas and New Year is quite different from previous experience, which is actually a GOOD thing in my opinion. While traditions are lovely, it's nice to have a change once in a while and participate in a different way of celebrating the festive season.

Now, I better wrap my presents, there's not much time to get them all sent out!

Apologies for being cryptic earlier, I needed to sort out my head.

What's happened is this - my parents found out ALL about me and Noah, I suspect Juliana Harkbitch of blabbing about catching me coming back late since she's the only one who would know, aside from Rachel Sloper (who has no reason to gossip to Zabini), and her brother is Leonard Zabini's best mate. So she probably felt honour-bound or some such crap to tell Leonard.

Engagement is, obviously, off - which is good. The bad? My parents are having a fit, cutting my allowance and demanding I dump Noah, change my friends and cozy up to Fudge of all people. I've written back and told them (politely) that I'm not going to do that so... yes, I have no idea what they'll do next. Burning my name from the family tree is a bit extreme but who knows.

Whether this is going to go public, I don't know. There'll probably be questions about why I'm no longer engaged to Leonard when that's known, but I'd appreciate it if you're asked that you just say it didn't work out or he fancied Montague too much.

As for Harkiss, I'd love to slap her silly face, but doing that would be too obvious, plus she'll only deny it and try to make me look bad. So again, appreciate it if you don't say anything to her face, all right? Everything should be business as usual.

No sneezing sickness and nothing terrible happened to me today, so despite what the superstitious types think, Friday 13th was a normal day for me. Not so much for whoever it is that is having their private thoughts splashed around. I think this is a timely reminder not to trust super secret thoughts to paper! Personally if I was going to dump my thoughts somewhere I'd much rather have a Pensieve.

I really don't understand the appeal of sliding down the stairs on trays. The bannisters work just as well if one really HAS to slide. And is 11. Or a boy

Although the reports about the improving economy are good, I wouldn't start celebrating just yet. Not until it's been steady for a little while longer. Still, I expect my father will be pleased!

Bonfire night tonight - I might even have a look in at that party the muggle studies club are throwing. Besides which, I'm curious as to what bonfire toffee is. I keep imagining toffee in flames, but that would be rather painful to eat!
